The Balloon Stunt was after all a hoax.

The mother of the 6 year old boy admitted that the Balloon saga was a hoax. According to reports, Mayumi Heene told sheriff deputies that she and her husband knew all along that Falcon was hiding in the residence in Fort Collins and that it was purposed to make them marketable to the media, a plan she and her husband had devised earlier.

Richard Heene, the husband, denied the allegation and insisted that it was not a hoax.
